Gluten Free Bakery
The sweet life (la dolce vita) should be for all, including those unable to eat gluten.
Crusty breads, crispy cookies, chewy brownies and savory crackers shouldn’t be off limits.
My mission is to bring back all those treats you’ve been missing and make them taste every bit as good as you remember them…but safe for gluten free eaters.

How to Order
Ready to get your hands on your own gluten free baked goods?

Ordering on one of my set menu bake days is perfect for trying out new items or getting stocked up on a favorite without placing a special order.

2) Pick out the items you’d like to order. Minimum order – $65.*
3) Text your order to me or send me an email.
4) If your order is for a specific date, I’ll check availability. If you’re flexible with the delivery date, I’ll let you know the next available date.
5) Pay via credit card or Venmo.
Pick up for special orders is in Orcutt unless special arrangements are made. Pick up from one of my other pick up locations may be available for an additional fee.
The pricing below is subject to change without notice due to ingredient cost fluctuation.
A minimum of 48+ hours of advance notice is required for all special orders. If you have questions, please feel free to contact me.
*Why a $65 minimum? Special orders require me to set up my kitchen according to health codes on days I’m not already baking. As per Santa Barbara County Health Department regulations, I must sterilize all areas and every utensil & let them air dry before I start baking. Depending on what I’m baking, this alone can take an hour.

Why gluten free?
For some of us, gluten is the enemy.
Ten years ago, I (Melissa) discovered gluten was making me sick. I immediately removed gluten from my diet and with it, many of my favorite foods.
After years of purchasing gluten free baked goods, always hoping for something that actually tasted like what it was labeled…I’d had enough & decided it was time to start baking again.
After lots of trial & error, I was able to start baking my favorites gluten free. And best of all, none of them tasted like they were made without gluten.
Fast forward a few more years and La Dolce Vita was born with the goal of bringing back delicious baked goods to those who bodies can’t tolerate gluten.
P.S. Not gluten free? Give us a try anyways. I bet you won’t be able to tell the difference!

A little (family) history
If you’ve seen the La Dolce Vita logo, this photo probably looks familiar and with good reason.
My logo is based on this 1914 photograph of my great-grandma Amy taken in Tehama County, California.
The one in the middle with the big smile on her face is Amy. On the left is her good friend Blanche and on the other side, her older sister Helen.
I couldn’t think of a better way to illustrate La Dolce Vita (The Sweet Life in Italian) than this image of three lifelong friends hanging out in a vineyard being rebels with their feet on the table and enjoying a glass of wine.
I hope every time you see the logo it reminds you to kick back and enjoy the sweet life every once and a while!
